History of PADES
The Economic and Social Development Assistance Program (PADES) is a national NGO created in 1992 by a group of young people, eager to participate in the fight for poverty reduction.
PADES is registered with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Security under receipt no. 1170/MATS/SG/APA/PC of December 2, 1993 and recognized as a development NGO by the Ministry of Planning and Regional Development on March 14, 1994 under no. 020/MPAT.
PADES intervention areas
The PADES intervention area is the Kara region.
Institutional objectives
The aim of PADES is to strengthen the technical and economic capacities of target populations to take ownership of development actions. It pursues the following objectives:
Support populations to identify problems affecting the development of their environments;
Support and sustain community projects and farmers’ organizations.
The target group
PADES is aimed at communities, groups, and individuals. In short, it works with rural, peri-urban, and urban populations, providing them with technical and financial support individually or in groups.
