WATER, HYGIENE AND SANITATION
CONSTRUCTION OF DRILLINGS AND DRINKING WATER SUPPLIES
"Water is life," it is often said. To help the government achieve its goal of providing 85% of the population with access to drinking water, PADES supports rural and peri-urban communities in accessing drinking water.

PROMOTION OF FAMILY AND PUBLIC LATRINES
The Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) approach is used by PADES to provide families with sustainable latrines with the aim of ending open defecation. Public latrines are also built with the collaboration of technical partners.

AWARENESS RAISING AND TRAINING ON GOOD HYGIENE AND SANITATION PRACTICES
Good hygiene and sanitation practices are promoted through awareness-raising and training to improve the health security of populations in PADES coverage areas. To achieve this, several strategies are used, including the use of PHAST tools, the provision of equipment, and menstrual hygiene kits. PADES will also conduct awareness-raising campaigns in municipalities on the rational management of household waste and find ways to transform it.
